Actions are a unique Glances feature that allow you to complete tasks across apps directly from the Glances widget. So while working in one app, you can create invoices, start calls, or make payments in another app without navigating away. Post-Action app updates allows you to bring back select pieces of data after you take Action.
Here is an example of how it works:
As an operations manager overseeing projects in monday, you want to see invoices and balances from QuickBooks. While Glances allows you to always view that data within the Glances app, our post-Action app updates allow us to bring that data to live in monday.com in the Invoice # and Invoice Balance columns.
In this scenario, the operations manager uses Glances to create the invoice. Glances sends the invoice to QuickBooks and then brings back the invoice number and invoice balance to their mapped columns. When the customer pays the invoice, the balance will go down to $0, so you ensure you always have the data you need in the moment you need it.
With the data living in the app you're working in, you can now use it in other workflows or triggers. For monday.com, for example, you could use automations to monitor when the balance is $0 and move the customer to a new board to continue their journey.
